Constantin acquires Extortion

13 Films has licensed Germany and all German-speaking rights in all media to Constantin Film for Extortionstarring Frank Grillo and Ving Rhames.

Phil Volken is scheduled to commence production on his directorial debut in Puerto Rico this month and produces with Alina Shraybman.

Extortion centres on a doctor and his family who fall foul of local fishermen in the Bahamas after a joyride leaves them stranded on an island.

Rounding out the cast are Jake McLaughlin, Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi from Captain Phillips and Nicky Whalen.

13 Films president Tannaz Anisi and her team handle worldwide rights.

The sales slate includes action-horor Untot to star Hayden Christensen; Chronically Metropolitan with Shiloh Fernandez, Chris Noth, Mary-Louise Parker and Ashley Benson; and supernatural thriller Voice From The Stonewith Emilia Clarke from Game Of Thrones.
