“I’m going to be with you until I die. How do you feel about that?” Yvonne Strahovski’s character asked. Adrien Brody’s character replied, “Terrified.” Talk about creepy! In what could be Adrien Brody’s most thrilling performance to date, “Manhattan Night” is about a New York City journalist (played by Brody) getting way too deep with an unsolved mystery catalyzed by a psychotically unstable yet astonishingly attractive mistress (played by Strahovski) as perMovie Insider. The first trailer for this upcoming suspense-thriller film was released and it looks juicy!

The trailer looks good and the cinematography and overall appearance of this darker, more claustrophobic version of the Big Apple is very well done. The  trailer does a good job of letting viewers know what the movie is about; almost too good of a job. If you’re one of those people who do not want to know exactly what is going to happen, then this trailer might just have bit off more than it could chew.

Still, “Manhattan Night” seems to pay homage to the throwbacks of yesteryear with its sexually charged themes and its neo-noir inspired atmosphere. Also, it stars the remarkably talented Adam Brody, who has done some brilliant actingwork over the years (“The Pianist,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Dragon Blade,” and so on.) Alongside Brody is Yvonne Strahovski of “Dexter” fame. The Australian-born actress has shown potential with her work over the years, and starring alongside the chameleon-like Brody in this film could give her an increased reputation as a versatile actress.

According to Slashfilm, the movie is inspired by Colin Harrison’s novel“Manhattan Nocturne,” a New York Times Notable Book of the Year award winner. The film is to be directed by Brian DeCubellis who is a producer-director making his feature-film directorial debut with “Manhattan Night.”
